Papadopoulos remembered the old days: He saved a penalty for the first time since 2014!

by

Panathinaikos passed Tripoli with an emphatic 4-1 for its 6th matchday Stoiximan Super Leaguebreaking a curse that had held him since February 2017, in which he had not celebrated a victory at Astera’s home.

The “greens” found themselves leading 2-1 at half-time, however the score could have been higher at the break if the goalkeeper of Arkades, Nikos Papadopoulosdidn’t block Andraz Sporar’s penalty in 45’+1′.

The Greek goalkeeper, however, seems to have remembered the… old days as he has to stop an opposing football player from the white bullet, from the competition season 2014-15 when he was defending his goalposts Panioni.

At the time, in fact, Papadopoulos had stopped from the penalty spot, three players in a month, starting from 9/11/2014 in the home match from Beautyfending off Leosinho’s penalty, while on December 7 twice said “no” to Panaitolikos, in executions of Martines and Alves.

The strange thing in this situation is that in all cases, the team of Nikos Papadopoulos he has known defeatwhen the Greek goalkeeper saves a penalty.
