Ares welcomes her Kifissia on Sunday (01/10, 17:30) for the 7th matchday of the Stoiximan Super League.
THE Akis Manzios spoke ahead of the match and initially referred to his team’s heavy defeat by Olympic. Afterwards, the Greek coach commented on the yellow team’s match with Giannis Anastasiou’s team.
His statements in detail:
On what was left of Mars from the way the previous defeat came: “It was a very difficult game against Olympiakos. Perhaps the phase with Darinda was pivotal (including the beam that the Czech had in the 53rd). We could probably be talking about another game now. We keep some positive parts of the match, in which we got the right reaction. But we have to be concerned about our presence in the last part of the game and the fact that as a team we gave it up… I think we have to focus on that, because there are games in which you will lose, but until the last minute you always have to be serious and give everything you have. We are a big team and everyone has to realize that.”
On whether the team should focus on stopping how they will keep a high tempo throughout the ninety minutes of games: “During the break we will work on several things. We want time for the players to get close to each other, so we have to pass them a lot of things in terms of our path from now on.”
Regarding whether the victory in tomorrow’s match against Kifissia is urgent: “The only way for us is to win against Kifissia! It is a game that we definitely want to win, different from the one that preceded it with Olympiakos. In front of us is a newly enlightened team, who will come to get the best they can. We’re focusing on our team, though. What we want is to present ourselves from the start strongly in the game, so that we can get the three points of the victory and then work calmly in the three weeks of the break of the league, which follow.”
On his take on tomorrow’s Mars opponent: “No game is easy. Kifisia is a new team, which will try with the way they play to claim the best they can in the match between us.”
And he concluded, highlighting what he expects to see from his players in tomorrow’s game: “We will enter from the beginning for the victory! We have shown signs of improvement in some parts of our game as a team and I want to see that in this game.”
