Lillard: “I’ve always wanted to play with Giannis – I’m excited and optimistic”

To move to Bucks: “It was a different experience. I started thinking about the preparation and just waited. Then I got a call from my agent and he said, “You’ve been traded to Milwaukee.” I could tell by the sound of his voice that it was serious. After the call I knew I was going there. I started thinking about my family there.

Over the last couple of weeks I’ve started thinking about the Milwaukee prospect. I talked to my agent and I was definitely interested in Milwaukee. I have said that I would always like to play with Giannis. I want to be myself. I know what kind of player Giannis is, he knows what kind of player I am. I want to show it with my presence in the team.”

On his collaboration with Giannis Antetokounmpo: “I’m a pick and roll player. Playing against him I was thinking of ways to mark him and limit him. I couldn’t imagine him having the ball at the line of scrimmage and creating an advantage. I’m excited to play with him, a lot of opportunities will be created playing alongside him.”
