Lupos: “The solution must come… yesterday for the AEK stadium after the “lockout” at OAKA”

by

To find a solution… yesterday to the problem of the venue arising for its men’s handball and women’s volleyball team AEK asked the communication director of Erasitechniki, Panos Lupos speaking to ERT News.

“I was particularly pleased that the Deputy Minister spoke twice about the big problem that exists at AEK after the lockout and at “G. Kasimati””he said and continued:

“I was also glad that he said that we are close to the solution. Just to emphasize that this solution should come… yesterday. The room “C. Kasimatis” is of course used by the men’s handball team, but also by the women’s team and by all the infrastructure departments of our association. There was also an agreement for the women’s volleyball team to use it this year. I remind you that the men’s handball team participates in a top European competition and even in groups. And now he doesn’t even have a place to train, while there is even a need for double training during the week, at least three times. This year, in fact, the hall would also be used by Women’s Volleyball, which also participates in a European event. The decision on the “lockout” fell, as you understand, like a bolt of lightning in our club. Of course we respect and accept it, since it is about the security of the world. But a solution must be provided immediately. And when I say immediately, I mean within the next 24 hours. At the moment there is no place for our departments to train”he emphasized and continued about what are the solutions that exist at the moment…

“There are no other solutions at the moment we are talking. Some proposals were made by Mr. Papastamati to Mr. Vroutsis, in the meeting between them. The Deputy Minister knows them. We have also sent a relevant letter and the Prime Minister himself is fully aware. I emphasize that the problem is big. And it is a financial, competitive and operational problem. We’ve made some suggestions, but I won’t mention stadium names. The point is to find a solution and then tell everyone about it. I heard from Mr. Vroutsis that they are close to the solutions, so we are also waiting for relevant information.”

Finally, he commented on the handball derby with Olympiakos.

“The match against OSFP was scheduled for Wednesday. I consider it self-evident that there will be a postponement decision, for the simple reason that our team does not have a stadium, so there is no headquarters for the match, and as I told you, not even to train. There is a major problem in our daily lives.” concluded.
