The mayor of Piraeus, Yannis Moralissaid that “today is a pleasant day with good news for the national football team, which acquires its own seat in the S.E.F., in order to compete from 1-1-2024 in its city and not be forced to go to sports grounds other municipalities. It was a request from Ethnikos to compete at the Peace and Friendship Stadium.
In this context, we proceeded with the required actions with the President of S.E.F. and O.P.A.N. and today we signed the concession of the 11?11 stadium to the Municipality of Piraeus, so that we can proceed with the construction of a 1500-seat stand and operational interventions, so that Ethnikos can compete under the best possible conditions. Our goal is of course for Ethnikis to acquire a modern sports facility in Schistos. The ownership regime remains to be clarified in order to move forward and I believe that in 2024 we will have good news with Schistos. At the same time, at the stadium of S.E.F. the rest of the teams will train as before.
It is a good synergy between four parties, the Municipality of Piraeus, OPAN, S.E.F. and National and I would like to thank the President of S.E.F. Christina Tsiligiri for our kind collaboration. It is a beginning to solve this problem that has plagued Ethnikos for 19-20 years. As a Municipal Authority we will always be close to the associations of our city, contributing from our side and to the extent possible, in finding sports venues and clearly in the creation of new sports infrastructures”.

As the administration of S.E.F., in recent years we have put sports in the foreground, with various actions that take place in our facilities. With the implementation of our master plan, we prioritize the modernization of our Stadium with changes that will allow it to transition to a new digital and at the same time green reality.
The 11×11 football pitch in the surrounding area of ​​the Stadium of Peace and Friendship is a valuable asset of our organization that we have been renting for a number of years to the Municipality of Piraeus with the rationale of facilitating the football teams of the wider area, but also promoting the sporting ideal. It is one of the final touches on the canvas of our interventions.
