Pelekidis: “In the second half we got energy and played defense”

by

Dimitris Pelekidis emphasized that there are always small scores in PAOK’s matches with Nea Ionia in any competition, he focused on Kepesidou’s missed shots in the first half, he focused on the goals in the interval, while dedicating the title to the victims of Tempo in 1999.

Analytically: “The truth is that the finals with Nea Ionia always have a low score, because the protagonists are the defenses. In the first half, Kepesidou played with almost 60%, we had many missed shots.

In the second half, we had more energy, we got balls from the defense and the goal, we scored goals in between. It was a tough match for sure, but we start the season successfully with a title and we dedicate it to the children who were lost in 1999 in Tempe and their families.”

The coach of OFNI, Sofia Naisidou, for her part, emphasized that: “First Super Cup, new institution, but with old attitudes. I want to first of all congratulate my gymnasts for their performance and for the patience they showed throughout the game, in which the decisive factors were also the protagonists and it was not the gymnasts and the competition, but the execution of a project that we have seen develop too many times. This should concern the organizing authority, that is, our federation or otherwise our sports community.

Congratulations to the PAOK team, but in reality this great team with such a large audience deserves the real cups.”
