Crowd of people at the last “farewell” to Yiannis Ioannidis

Relatives, friends, a lot of basketball people and simple fans said goodbye to him Yannis Ioannidisat the memorial service that took place at noon on Thursday at Agios Ioannis Voulas.

the “blonde” passed away at the age of 78 after serious health problems he faced in recent years. His loved ones and the entire Greek basketball team were there for the last “goodbye”, before the farewell ceremony that will take place on Friday in Thessaloniki (17:00).

The deceased’s wife and daughter were devastated, as was his partner for many years, Yiannis Ioannidis (“Dutch”). The presidents of KAE Olympiacos, Panagiotis and Giorgos Angelopoulos, the coach of the team Giorgos Bartzokas and the captain Kostas Papanikolaou were present. Many of his former players were there, such as Panagiotis Giannakis, Francis Albertis, Panagiotis Fasoulas, Dimitris Diamantidis, Antonis Fotsis, Dimos Dikoudis, Dimitris Papanikolaou, Kostas Tsartsaris, Giannis Bourousis and many others. Among them was the president of the EEC, Vangelis Liolios, the Deputy Minister of Sports Giannis Vroutsis and the former international referees Kostas Rigas and Stavros Doubis, while there were wreaths from all the teams as well as the parties.
