The “bang” is official: Samonturov in Panerythraikos – With a double ticket from Panathinaikos

His acquisition Alexandrou Samonturov in the form of the double slip from Panathinaikos Panerythraikos announced.

The 18-year-old forward was difficult to find playing time for the “greens” and it was decided to be granted to a team, in order to have competitive minutes. Thus, he will move to the Eritrean team, but he will also be able to participate in the Basket League, whenever the “greens” decide.

The specific regulation states that a team can give a player between the ages of 18-21 to a lower division team but retain the right to use him if deemed necessary.

The management of the Pan-Erythraikos AS is pleased to announce the acquisition of the athlete Alexandros Samonturov, who in the 2023-2024 season will compete in our team’s shirt with the use of the double card, coming from Panathinaikos.

The 18-year-old talented “ace” (4, 2.11) is one of the most talented athletes of his generation pan-Europeanly, as one of the greatest hopes of Greek basketball, with his presence in New Erythrea being another confirmation of the results, which it pays off in all areas of our association’s development program.

Alexandros started playing basketball at the age of 10 at Nikos Hatzivretta’s DEKA Academy, with which he stood out not only in development league matches, but also at the Men’s level, after leading the team to win the title in the 5th group of the North of the C’ National team in the 2021-2022 season, while in the same year he was also named MVP of the EEC Rising Stars tournament. His performances with DEKA caused the interest of top European teams, with Panathinaikos making him theirs and winning the ESKA A1 Youth championship with him, while he also reached the final of Rising Stars, with Alexandros also getting performances with the “green” men’s team.

In his first statements as a Pan-Erythraikos athlete, he stated the following: “I am very happy to be in a team with dreams and aspirations, like Panerythraikos, which has proven what the value of the young Greek athlete means to its mentality and philosophy. I thank both the club and, of course, Panathinaikos, for the opportunity given to me to acquire important images at all levels in the new season and respectively to improve as a team and individually. I can’t wait for the new Elite League to start and get as high as we can».
