On Thursday morning (5/10), Mr Vinicius Jr visited the Madrid court to testify about the racist attack with slogans and chants she received from some of her fans Valencia last May, during Real’s away match at Mestalla.
According to reports in the Spanish media, the Brazilian winger expressed his belief that the entire pitch of the “bats” attacked him racially, which angered the people of Valencia.
In fact, the latter hastened to emphasize in its statement that the incident in question was reprehensible, but certainly not so generalized, asking the Brazilian to correct his statement.
Valencia’s announcement in detail:
“In view of the information published regarding the alleged statement given in court by the football player Vinicius Junior, according to which the entire Mestalla stadium hurled racial insults at him in the match between Valencia and Real last season, the club wants to express her surprise, rejection and indignation.
As coach Carlo Ancelotti himself publicly admitted, under no circumstances can the behavior be generalized across the entire pitch.
The team is fully aware of the seriousness of this matter. Racism has no place in football or society, but it cannot be fought with fallacies or baseless lies. This matter requires everyone’s participation and Valencia understands that it must be scrupulously accurate and responsible in these kinds of demonstrations.
Valencia fans cannot be labeled racist and Valencia demand that Vinicius Junior publicly retract his alleged statement this morning.”
