The AEK-Olympiakou derby is “in the air” for the 3rd matchday of the Handball Premierwhich was postponed to 4/10, due to the issue that has arisen with OAKA!
As OCHE announced, the match should be held within the interval of eight days from its original date, however, due to the municipal elections and the heavy schedule of the two teams, the decision was made to postpone the derby indefinitely!
In fact, in the announcement, it is announced that the maximum possible will be done on the part of the federation, to find a seat and a date for the match!

Regarding the match of the 3rd round of the Handball Premier AEK-Olympiacos SFP, the Administrative Committee of the Championship of OHE announces the following:
After the sudden suspension of the OAKA (29/9) and by extension the hall “G. Kassimatis” which is used as headquarters by the AEK union, the DEP/OHE postponed to 3/10/2023 the match that was originally scheduled to take place on Wednesday 4/10 at 19.30.
Based on the O.C.E. Competition Regulations, article 29/par.4 which states: “A match that has been canceled for any reason and is judged to have to be repeated is carried out if this is possible, within 8 days from the day it was originally was planned to be held” the Faculty/O.X.E. made all possible efforts in this direction. (finding a venue for the match)
But this was not possible either from the side of OCHE or from the side of the host club on the one hand and on the other, within the 8-day interval:
a) the Municipal – Regional elections on 8.10.2023
b) the competition obligation of the OSFP club on 11/10 (match with EGSN ZAFIRAKI due to EHF Cup 14-15/10/2023) and of AEK on 11/10 (match with PAOK due to PAOK’s competition obligation in the EHF Cup 14-15/10 /2023)
Therefore, the match in question is postponed indefinitely and on the part of the DEP/O.X.E. will make every effort for the most convenient date since the calendar is particularly burdened for both clubs, both in the Greek league and in the European Cups”.
