Harakiri of Olympiakos in Serbia and now… running!

by

Olympiacos kicked the opportunity! Although he had him Pontense in great spirits (goal and assist) and took a 2-0 lead in good time, then he paid for his defensive shortcomings but also for the fact that the referee sent Doe off with a strict red card to get only the point (2-2) in Serbia against Backa Topola.

First point for both teams, at 6 now West Ham which… defines the group, while the Freiburg is at 3.

He lacked a clear mind in the final third of the pitch, but also the concentration at the back and fatally paid for his mistakes, conceding the second goal in the 90′ and in a period that had limited Bachka (who played with player more).

West Ham is welcomed by Olympiacos in the next matchday and Batska hosts Freiburg.

In the coach’s mind

With 4-4-2, Zarko Lazetić brought down Backa Topola. Ilic in goal and Tskvetovic, Kolusic, Antonic, Petrovic in defense. Radin, Stogic, Stanic, Dakovac in the midfield, with the first and the last on the sides, while the duo in the attack were Rakoniac, Jovanovic.

Same arrangement from Diego Martinez for Olympiakos, with Paschalakis under the posts and Rodinei, Retso, Doi and Kini forming the foursome of the defense. Kamara and Ese in the midfield, on the sides Fortunis, Pontense and Masouras in the role of second forward on the side of El Kaabi.

The match

Olympiacos entered with the intention of taking the reins of the match and succeeded. Circulation of the ball, finals and the goal looked like it would not be long in coming, as it did in the 16th minute. After excellent development, Podense picked up sweetly and Masouras made it 1-0 for the “red and whites” with an elusive header. Martinez’s side were better pressing and in control, which meant they weren’t much of a threat.

With the home side’s best moment of the first half coming in the 31st minute with Rakoniac’s one-on-one shot, which went narrowly wide. Three minutes later, Fortounis found Rodinei in the area but the latter’s shot was blocked by bodies, with Olympiakos managing to take their lead into half-time.

More in a while…
