Once again it is proven that the Sports Referee of the KOP chooses to apply the provisions of the Disciplinary Regulations to the letter against those who represent APOEL while at the same time for other groups or persons, the penalties are not equal.
Today the Sports Judge imposed one of the most severe punishments in the disciplinary regulations of the KOP, against the coach of APOEL, Ricardo Sa Pinto, while two days earlier, for the referrals against the coach of Anorthosis (9b and 9k) which lead to penalties, for at least an additional 5 matches beyond the automatic ban, simply imposed a monetary fine.
Last March, with exactly the same referrals (9b and 9k), Mr. Vryonidis imposed suspensions of 2 matches, from the stadiums, on 3 APOEL agents.
We also remember very well the incidents, in April 2022, where again the Sports Judge punished 5 APOEL agents with suspensions of more than 4 games, with exactly the same indictment as was made public for the coach of Anorthosis.
We have no problem as APOEL to accept the application of the penalties that are awarded equally, to all players and to all coaches, who go beyond the limits of correct behavior.
As APOEL we reserve the right to further actions. At the moment, the only priority is Saturday’s match, so we will not make any other position.
