Maguire: ‘I’m not going to stay here and play once a month’

by

Not at all satisfied with his playing time this season with the Manchester United is the Harry Maguire.

The English stopper last Saturday made his first appearance as a starter in this year’s Premier League in the match against Bradford at the mercy of six defensive absences, with the Red Devils taking a valuable win with two stoppage-time goals from McTominay. In fact, the 30-year-old assisted the Scotsman in the winning goal at 90+7′.

However, in the statements he gave he was clearly unhappy, stressing that if he continues to be on the bench he will try to leave in the next period.

I’m not going to stay here my whole life and play once a month. If this situation continues, I’m sure me and the club will sit down and talk about a lot of things.

It’s not my decision whether I start the next Manchester United match or not. I’ll go back in a few weeks and find out“, he initially said and added:

I have confidence in my abilities. I want to play and feel that I am valuable for the club. Right now I’m not playing as much as I’d like. The record I have with this coach speaks for itself.

My win rate is amazingly high. If you look at the last 15-20 matches I’ve started for club and country, I’m really happy with my performances.

At the moment I’m focusing on the two big games in England then I’ll fight to win back my place at United and help the team climb up the table”, were the words of Harry Maguire.
