If there’s one thing the summer of 2023 will be remembered for when it comes to football, it’s the star-studded move of Europe at Saudi Arabia.
The Saudis’ exorbitant sums attracted some huge names, one of which was the Karim Benzema. Her legendary fore Real Madrid chose to continue his career in Al Ittihadexplaining that it was his great desire to play in Saudi Arabia, whose football level is higher than he expected.
In detail what he said:
“I think it was a good time to make a new change in my life after everything I had already won in Madrid. I always wanted to come here. When the football project started in Saudi Arabia, it seemed huge in every way. I wanted to be a part of this story and help Saudi football grow. This is why I came here.
It is also a Muslim country. When you travel there as a Muslim you feel good and pure. It is simply excellent. I would like all Muslims to go there one day. I feel good on and off the field. This country welcomed me with open arms. I feel the love of the people here and obviously that makes me happy and I try to return that love through the pitch.
There is a lot of passion here and I am happy with the level of play. I’m really surprised by the level in Saudi Arabia because in Europe we don’t see many matches from here. But now we see more and more because of the big names that have come.”
