The heart of world wrestling “beats” in Loutraki

With plenty of glamor from wrestling’s past, the World Grappling Championship (GP/GP Gi) starts on Saturday at the “Georgios Galanopoulos” Indoor Gymnasium in Loutraki, while the “baton” will take over on Tuesday, October 17, from the World Veteran Olympic Wrestling Championship .

These are two events that will offer a spectacle to the lucky ones who will be in the indoor gym of Loutraki, where approximately 1,000 athletes from 32 countries will parade from the mats.

200 athletes from 19 countries are expected to compete in the World Grappling Championship (GP/GP Gi), which will be held over the three days of October 14-16.

The “baton” will then be passed, October 17-23 to the World Veterans Olympic Wrestling Championships where over 800 Greco-Roman and freestyle wrestling veterans from 32 countries will have the opportunity to compete again, share memories and experiences in the arena and to build bonds of friendship, solidarity and cooperation.

On Tuesday, the official opening ceremony of the event will take place, which will take place at 17:45.

It should be emphasized that the event is the fourth of world level that Greece has undertaken this year, a sign of the World Federation’s trust in ELOP.

It is noted that Greece will compete with 55 athletes in all styles, with the aim, of course, of distinction and several medals.

Both championships are held under the auspices of the Hellenic Wrestling Federation, with the cooperation of the World Federation.

The support is provided by the Municipality of Loutraki – Perachora – Agios Theodoros, while the implementing body is the Sportcamp sports center.

The World Grappling Championship will have a start time of 10:00 to 13:30, while the afternoon matches will start at 17:00 and finish at 20:30.

At the World Veterans Championship, the morning program will start at 10:30 and finish at approximately 14:30, while the afternoon competition times will be from 18:00 to 20:30.
