Poget: I have nothing personal with ‘Delia’ – I would like to see the same penalty given to Real

To Yannis Constantelia but also in his arbitration Hernandez Hernandez mentioned, among others, Gustavo Poget at the press conference after the defeat (0-1) of the Greek national team by the Netherlands.

The Uruguayan coach was asked about the non-use of PAOK’s attacking midfielder, stressing that he has nothing personal with him, while also describing him as the future of Greece. At the same time, he spoke about the second penalty awarded by the Spanish referee to the “Oranie”, underlining that he would like to see his reaction if he did something similar against Real in their game at the “Santiago Bernabeu”.

From there, he thanked his players, while he noted that – in view of the possible qualification for Euro 2024 – he wants to see his team learn to play with better teams than his own.

The Match: “I’ll start with the bad news which is that we lost. The game developed as we planned. We did everything we could to win. We made difficult decisions, like starting Ioannidis instead of Giakoumakis, but seeing how he played today… The players showed a lot of faith and understanding of the game. – Konstantinos: “I have nothing personal with “Delia”. There is nothing personal with Constantelia. It is the future of Greece. He knows his place. We don’t win or lose because of ”Delia”. It’s a matter of time. He is a very good player. I am happy with him. I am very satisfied with his training. In a normal game and in another game he might be playing».

– Koeman who mentioned that he wanted three penalties and the above center forwards: “For the penalties it was simple for me. If the referee does not give the first penalty, VAR will not call him. It is a normal phase. He gave it and it is not wrong for the VAR to call him to give it. In the 2nd penalty – I who watch 50 years of football – if the VAR calls it in 99% of the cases it will not give it. And what was more of a penalty he didn’t give. What can you do; I do not worry.
