The choice of the match Ilioupoli-Diagoras Rhodes instead Kalamata-Chania regarding YouTube broadcasts brought the reaction of the Cretan PAE, which expressed in a statement the displeasure of the club’s people for the president of Super League 2, Petros Marchoukos.
Specifically, the people of Chania reported that “PAE CHANIA publicly and officially expresses its displeasure with the administration of Super League 2 and personally with the President, Mr. Martsoukos, for their decision not to televise the upcoming match of our team with the counterpart of PAE Kalamata. We wonder who – and by what criteria – selects the matches broadcast by the League’s YouTube channel. With what logic was the Ilioupoli-Diagoras match chosen for Sunday (with all due respect to the two PAEs) instead of the competitive Kalamata-Chania derby?
We make it clear that we have absolutely no problem with PAE Kalamata, with whose ownership and management we have the best relationship. We are sure that our friends in Messinia also wish to be able to watch the match as many fans as possible, either in the stadium or on television.
We request the live telecast of the match and at the same time we hope that the referee will stand up to it, as we have officially requested from the KED, in order to hold a match worthy of the history and this year’s dynamics of the two teams and not to “contaminate” the championship with good morning…
PS It is not the first time this year that Mr. Martsoukos works against us. We hope this will be the last because otherwise we will be forced to reconsider our attitude towards him.”
Then came the response from the league presidentwho reported that “all league matches are videotaped and are available to teams and authorities. The Kalamata – Chania match was scheduled to take place on Saturday 21.10.23 and the Ilioupoli – Diagoras match on Sunday 22.10.23, with both live broadcasts from the SL2 Channel on YouTube.
PAE Chania submitted a request to move their match from Saturday to Sunday, a request that was accepted. However, the programming of the -to be broadcast- matches cannot be changed, but neither should the organizing authority satisfy the wishes of actors who manifest “NAPOLEON” tendencies, and claim more television time, at the moment when the organizer decided that all teams will be shown analog from the SL2 Channel.
The league is at risk from intemperate factors and their attitudes… And not from the choices of matches to be broadcast”.
