by

AEK now heads to Marseille with Marseille for the 3rd matchday of the Europa League groups, while then they welcome PAOK to the “OPAP Arena”. To them 17 Union now, while Arcades, who host Lamia next week, stayed at 8!

Worry about Araujo, Hadjisafi who had disturbances during the match, while the second half was delayed to start due to police tear gas and complaints from AEK people about hitting women and children.

In the coach’s mind

With 4-2-3-1, Milan Rastavacs brought down Asteras. At home, Papadopoulos and Garthia, Kastanio, Djukanovic, Alvares in the defensive four. Grozdanic with Munafos in the midfield, having Kalcha, Bartolo, Crespi in the midfield trio. Miritelo was at the top of the attack.

Matias Almeida lined up AEK with 4-4-1-1, with Stankovic in goal. On the right end of the defense, Rota, on the left, Hadjisafi, with Cullens on Vida’s side in the stoppers. Jonsson and Szymanski are the central midfield duo, with Eliasson starting on the right of the midfield line and Zuber on the left. Araujo is at the top and Mandalos a little further back.

The match

He was better Star in the first half and had more chances to score, with the AEK however at the end of the half to find a goal from… nowhere and take the lead.

The first good moment in the match came in the 8th minute, when You’re wearing socks made the cross, but o Blueberry he didn’t manage to head the ball into the net. In the 23rd minute, Asteras had a great chance, when after a huge mistake HadjisafiThe Blueberry stung for him Sockwho took an incredible dry shot that stopped at the left post of his goal Stankovic!

The Arkades did not stop there, however, and had taken measures on the field, constantly threatening the opposing goal. Two minutes later the Hadjisafi he was wrong again, o You’re wearing socks he entered the area from the side but the diagonal finish he attempted missed the target! AEK was quite chatty and couldn’t get good final efforts easily.

The home team had another good moment in the 31st minute, with Crespi to come out in a four-a-four position and make the place, but o Stankovic he made a big operation with the foot and kept his home clean. Afterwards, the match was quite balanced, with AEK finally being the one to open the scoring in the fourth minute of stoppage time. THE Cumber made an excellent cross in the heart of the Asteras area, with Eliasson to punch and with a place in the movement to execute Papadopoulos for 1-0. Somehow, the Union went to the locker room with a lead.

The second 45 minutes started with a delay as the police proceeded to throw smoke bombs outside the pitch. Finally, the atmosphere seemed to clear after a while and the two teams re-entered the field.

THE AEK came on strong in the second half and was in control of the game, unlike Asteras who played quite nervously. The task of the Arkades became more difficult, when in the 52nd minute o Chestnut he saw a second yellow card and left his team with 10 players. And this because the Spaniard fouled him Cumberby Sidiropoulos yellowing him for a barrier and raising a storm of reactions on the bench of the home team.

THE Star even though he was playing with one less player he didn’t flinch and didn’t shut down for several minutes until fatigue set in on his players. However, they had their moment with the newcomer Surlythe shooting of which from a vantage point ended up in his arms Stankovic. AEK started to increase the tempo, to press and in the 77th minute found a second goal, when after the execution of a corner EliassonThe Mohammadi found himself unmarked in the opposing area and beat Papadopoulos with a header for 2-0.

The Union did not stop there and in the 86th minute o Cumber he scored 3-0 with a spot kick and put the icing on the cake. Nothing changed until the final whistle of the game, with AEK going through Tripoli and getting their first win since 2020.

MVP: Zuber manages with one move to unlock Astera’s defense and give a ready goal to Eliasson for 1-0 in the last phase of the first part and against the image of the game. He also earns the second yellow card of Zuber, he also scores the 3-0. He did it all!

The whistle: Sidiropoulos gathered the protests in a… quiet match. The game starts with three yellow cards for Astera players in 15 minutes and another one for Rastavacs. To Castanius, he has shown the first card for a cockfight with Madallo and the second for a dam to Zuber. More generally, in the disciplinary control, the Greek referee showed that he was losing it, without falling into a big mistake.
