Mavropanos: “Individually, Olympiacos has good players – It’s nice to return to my country”

by

THE Dinos Mavropanos spoke at the customary press conference ahead of her fight West Ham with Olympiakos.

The Greek stopper stated cheerful who returned to Greece and then commented on the red and whites.

“It’s a very good and nice feeling to return to my country and play against a good team. Very nice to return to my country. I was not a fan of any team because my father only wanted us to watch good football and not to be with any team.

Arsene Wenger helped me a lot to adapt to English football, and David Moyes has also helped me now on my return. In the last game, some things may have happened on the field (Olympiakos means), but in international games these things do not happen and there is respect for the opponents. The atmosphere in the Greek stadiums is impressive and it is good for us that we will have people with us in the match.

It was my aim to return to the Premier. It is important that I came to West Ham. I’m proud to be at West Ham.”

For Olympiakos: “Individually they have very good players, in attack and in general counter-attacks they are very good and it will be a difficult match for West Ham. We always follow the coach’s plan: certainly the height of the players plays a role and the static phases, where he will have physical contact, will be an element of the match.”

For a match against Greek team, for return against Olympiakos and for the defeat by Aston Villa: “It was a bad result but we are looking at the next match. It’s good to play in Greece again. I have spoken with my team mates in the National team about this match, we have also discussed this game and it is good that we are opponents. My last game before leaving for England was here with Olympiakos and it’s really nice to play in this stadium again.”
