In Litochoro, the Panhellenic Weightlifting Championship

The strongest Greek athletes will gather in Litochoro on the three days of December 15-17, 2023, for the Panhellenic Men’s and Women’s Weightlifting Championship.

The conduct of the games was finalized at the meeting held by the Secretary General of the Hellenic Weightlifting Federation and Olympian Pyrros Dimas, with the Deputy Governor of Pieria, Sofia Mavridou, at the Governor’s Office of the PE of Pieria, in the presence of the Mayor of Dios – Olympos Vangelis Gerolioliou.

The Panhellenic Championship will be held with the support of the Pieria Regional Unit, the Municipality of Dion – Olympus and the International Sports Institute of Pyrros Dimas.

“I want to thank the Deputy Governor of Pieria Sofia Mavridou for the meeting we had and for supporting the Region in the top indoor weightlifting event in Greece for 2023. I believe that Litochoro, this special and beautiful city, will be the ideal setting for high-level competitions and I am sure that all the sportsmen and women will enjoy their stay in the city and their participation in the Panhellenic Championship“, said Pyrros Dimas.

Sofia Mavridou, for her part, stated that: “As a Regional Authority we are always helpful in actions and actions that promote sports, as for us in Pieria the field of sports is a main factor in both the social and cultural development and promotion of the place».

Also, Pyrros Dimas had a meeting with Olympian and Deputy Regional Governor of the Metropolitan Unity of Thessaloniki Voula Patoulidou. The two Olympians spoke in a particularly warm atmosphere about the organization of the European Weightlifting Championship for Boys and Girls that will take place in 2024, which the Region will support.
