He took the thriller with Prometheus and was a safe guard in the wins at Peristeri bwin!

In a match that kept the suspense until the end, the Pigeon bwin got his first win in Stoiximan Basket League!

His team Vasilis Spanoulis prevailed with his 76-71 Prometheus of Patras at “Andreas Papandreou” for the 4th matchday of the Greek championship and went 1-3, while on the contrary, Ilias Papatheodorou’s team suffered its first defeat this season and fell to 3-1.

For the hosts, he stood out Jaylen Hunts with 18 points, three assists and two rebounds, just like the Williams and Thompson with 12 and 10 points respectively. On the other hand, Mr Etsenike starred with a double-double (21 points, 10 rebounds), while 11 points were scored by Hale and 10 o Kofi.

The Pigeon bwin started the match with Ragland, Poulianitis, Kaselakis, Williams and Thompson, while Ilias Papatheodorou for Prometheus with Reynolds, Bazina, Chrysikopoulos, Etsenike and Hale.

Balanced start of the match, with Etsenike starting impressively by scoring all seven points of his team in the 3′ (6-7). A well-timed three-point shot from Poulianitis gave Peristeri bwin the lead (9-7), with Hale tying the game (9-9) before the interval when both teams were off target in their offensive efforts.

The match went point-by-point until the 7th minute (16-16), until the hosts “ran” a 6-0 (22-16) for the first substantial difference of the match. Until the middle of the second quarter the hosts seemed to control the balance of the match, however, Prometheus “answered” with a 7-0 run and reduced the difference to three (34-31). In the last minute of the first part, Dangubits, Hunts and Renfro aggressively kept Peristeri bwin (42-37), but Hale’s three-pointer in the last second of the half cut it to two for Prometheus (42-40).

The first minutes of the second half belonged to Ilias Papatheodorou’s team, which took a 5-0 lead in the match (42-45). The bwin Pigeon “answered” with four accurate shots Thompson (46-45), with the visitors finding solutions aggressively and taking the lead again with 46-51. The home team then cut the deficit and Renfro tied it at 53-53 with two minutes left in the third period, with Hunts making it 59-56 at the end of the third period with a 3-pointer from the corner.

The 24-year-old American took his team by the hand and in the 32nd minute made it 63-56, however, Prometheus reacted and went ahead in the 36th minute with Coffey for 65-66. Dangubic in 37′ gave his team the lead for 71-69 and despite the tie, in 39′ Ragland made it 73-71. The suspense for the winner lasted until the end, but the hosts showed that they wanted the pink card, which they managed to get. Williams smartly forced Prometheus to foul with six seconds left and Mitrou Long fouled out with two seconds left to end the game at 76-71.
