Grimau: “90% Laprovitola will not play with Panathinaikos”

by

On Friday night (03/11, 21:30), Barcelona welcomes Panathinaikos to the “Palau Blaugrana” for the 6th matchday of the Euroleague, with the Catalans hopefully counting two consecutive defeats in the league and Europe.

With his statements, the technician of the “Blaugrana”, Roger Grimmow, revealed that the Nicholas Laprovitola it is almost unlikely that he will catch the game with the “greens”, as he remains out of action due to an adductor problem.

Roger Grimau’s statements in detail:

On the defeat in the derby against Real: “We are coming from a defeat that cost us, as at the level we are at we want to keep winning. But, I want to be positive and look at the good aspects of the games we are losing. Certainly, to win at this level you have to be more consistent. We had good times and bad times. In any case, the team is good and we are looking forward to competing in “Palau”.

On the injury of Nicolas Laprovitola: “90% of the time he won’t be available. His health is improving, but the important thing is his full recovery. He feels better, but everything shows that on Friday he will not be available to compete.”

For what works in Barcelona: “We are trying to find some things in our tactics and we want when we lose two balls or make two mistakes not to proceed to a third. This is about team identity, knowing the moment, knowing how to “stop” the flow of the game offensively and defensively. We have to learn these lessons from our games if we want to face good teams, who punish you when you don’t score. We are working on it, there is no magic. But we are working.”

On Barcelona’s defensive function: “At the beginning of the season we didn’t have the same function, but we worked on it. If we look at the statistics of the Euroleague, we will find that the teams that score a lot, run the field well, have quality players and sometimes defend effectively. We know, however, that defense is a key element if we want to achieve things. I’m happy with how we’ve done in this area since the start of the event.”

For the Blaugrana roster: “As I said from day one, I’m excited about the players I have. Obviously, during the season we hope everyone will be healthy. However, we know that the demanding program will also bring injuries. If everything goes well and everyone is healthy, the players we have are more than enough.”
