Exasperated AEK painted the derby with Panathinaikos “yellow and black”!

AEK “pressed” Panathinaikos with soul and painted the derby yellow and black! The Union highlighted all the weaknesses of the Greek champions and with an excellent block, won the match at the indoor Olympic Village, winning 3-1 sets, for the 3rd matchday of the Women’s Volleyball League!

In the competitive part, AEK entered the first set very strongly and made a quick 5-0. Panathinaikos looked for a reaction, initially reducing to three points (9-6), and then reaching a tie (12-12). However, the hosts with an impenetrable block and excellent reactions to the strong serve of the “greens” took the lead again and finally the set with 25-21.

The Panathinaikos star player in the second set made an amazing 4-0 run in the middle of the period and took a 14-8 lead. AEK made its attempt to gnaw the difference, which did not happen as a result of the team of Yiannis Kalmazidis, reaching +8 for 25-17 of 1-1.

AEK stormed in the third set, starting with an impressive 11-5 which was fully representative based on the image of the match. Panathinaikos did not manage to catch the pace of the Union even for a moment and thus the set ended fatally in this one with 25-13.

Yunus Utsal’s team, with their psychology high, saw Panathinaikos take a significant four-point difference (13-17). However, AEK stayed close to the score and taking advantage of the bad reactions of the Panathinaikos players, initially equalized at 21-21 and took the set and therefore the match (25-23) for 3-1.
