by

A landmark result for him Mustafa Falbut also him George Bartzokas yesterday’s victory of Olympiakos over PAOK in Palataki (63-77).

The French center me 10 points, 10 rebounds and 11 assists scored the first triple-double in the Stoiximan Basket League since after May 14, 2022 when Daniel Hamilton reached such a performance with Ionikos, in the away game against Larissa, having 21 points, 11 rebounds and 10 assists.

Fal became the first Olympiakos player to achieve such a feat after November 19, 1994 when Sasha Volkov had 31 points, 13 rebounds and 10 assists in the home game against Ampelokipi.

That was it ninth triple-double in major league history (since 1992-93) but first by a center in points, rebounds and assists. Previous players who played in the “5”, like Fal, reached such a performance with points, rebounds and blocks. It was Mike Smrek on October 10, 1992 with Dafni against Larissa, having 17 points, 15 rebounds and 10 blocks, Stojan Vrankovic on February 14, 1993 in the game of Panathinaikos against Aris in Thessaloniki, having 13 points, 14 rebounds and 10 blocks and the Croatian giant himself again on March 6, 1993 in Panathinaikos’ home game against Peristeri, having 12 points, 24 rebounds and 10 blocks.

At the same time, Fal, with the 11 assists he handed out in the Pylaia game, didn’t just set a new career record in the Stoiximan Basket League. He broke his previous record of six that he shared in the 13th match against Peristeri bwin. At the same time, this is the fourth biggest performance of the Stoiximan Basket League this year behind the two of London Perantes (14 and 12 with Peristeri and Lavrio) and one of Joe Ragland (12 on Saturday in Maroussi).

This was the 18th 11+ assist performance in Olympiakos professional league history (since 1992-93). Of course, no other center has a place in this list. The French center scored this year’s top performance, among Olympiakos players, in the assist/error ratio having 8 (11 assists / 3 errors). At the same time, he equaled the third highest performance of the first five games. Among these performances, he recorded his sixth double-digit performance in the “economy” this year, having a coefficient of 10 (11 assists + 1 steal + 1 block – 3 errors).

Additionally, with his 10 rebounds, Fal became Olympiakos’ 30th overall player and 12th foreign player in the Stoiximan Basket League to reach the 300 mark. With these, he entered the top 30 rebounders of the “red and white” in the years of the professional Championship after surpassing Thodoris Papaloukas who had 293. Four of his 10 rebounds were offensive and with them he “climbed” a place on the list of Olympiacos’ foreign players. He is now 11th after reaching 106, surpassing Johnny Rodgers who had 104 in 1997-99. Having 4/4 two points, the Olympiakos center equaled the second highest performance this year. He was 5/5 in the Rhodes match and shares the record with Nate Renfro and Jericole Helms.

In the meantime, Mr George Bartzokas became the third coach in Olympiakos games in the Stoiximan Basket League. Yesterday’s was the 137th and with it he surpassed Yiannis Sfeiropoulos.

Michalis Lountzis may have been one point away from 1,000, but with the two assists he dished out, he reached 300 in 166 games in the Stoiximan Basket League. At the same time, he became the 41st in the history of Olympiakos to reach 100.

*Nigel Williams-Goss with his 16 points, became the 83rd in “red and white” history in the professional Championship, who reached 300+.

On a team level…

*With his 28 assists, Olympiacos equaled the second highest performance this year in the Stoiximan Basket League. The +13 he had against PAOK mateco (15-28) is the third biggest difference this year.

*Olympiacos had a 103 ranking against its opponent’s 63, scoring one of the seven 40+ performances in the ranking difference, this season.
