“Meeting with the Super League 2 board consisting of Messrs. Martsoukos, Stamoulis and Vougidis had a PSAPP delegation, which was staffed by the President, Giorgos Bandis, the Head of Football Players’ Communication, Vassilis Papadopoulos, the General Director of the Association, Yannis Brachos and the Head of Men’s Football, Costas Papadopoulos.
Through this, the serious problems faced by Super League 2 were conveyed to the Association, and specifically, as mentioned, the indifference of ERT SA. to proceed with the renewal and continuation of the television contract, based on the law (art. 25 par. 2a N4809/21), as well as the only 5% he received last year from the taxation of the bet players’ profits, instead of the 17 % provided for by the original MLA.
Our board emphasized that the above issues put at risk even the continuation of the championship, which this year and after several years started at its predetermined time.
The PSAPP expresses its strong concern about the seriousness of the prevailing situation, which once again may affect football and football players, and sounds the alarm bell to the state and organized football, asking them to provide their full support so that to find a solution.
In addition, the Association conveyed to the organizing authority specific proposals that it considers will strengthen its efforts to deal with the problems it is facing.”
