Moyes: “Olympiacos is very experienced in Europe – The most difficult group we have played in the last three years”

For her game West Ham with Olympiakos (09/11, 22:00) for the 4th matchday of the Europa League groups, spoke at the press conference David Moyes.

The coach of the “hammers” said that the “red and white” are one very experienced team in Europe, while he had also watched them in their matches against Arsenal. He also noted that the group his team is competing in this year is the most difficult of the last three years.

His statements in detail:

“Olympiacos is a very experienced European team that has played many times in the UK. I’ve seen them play against Arsenal a few years ago.

We have a good team against us. Our group is probably the toughest we’ve been in in the last three years so we’ll have to play well.:

In the game against Olympiakos in Greece we had difficult challenges. Their world was amazing and they played a huge part in that match.

There are some great stadiums in England with a nice atmosphere, but we all enjoyed the atmosphere at the Olympiakos stadium. There are quite a few nice things in the Premier League but I think if someone goes and sees matches in Europe, they will see that there are stadium atmospheres that reach other levels.

In addition, we had not played well, we were far from our level, so on Thursday night we want to get closer to our usual levels. If we get the win we will be in a good position and we want the wins to continue playing in Europe after Christmas.”

On his previous clash with Olympiakos as Manchester United manager: “The difference is that then there were two matches in a knockout pair, while now we are in the group stage.

I think we are in a pretty good position in the group stage and we have done well in the groups in recent years. Olympiacos now have some really talented players and we will face one of the best teams we have come across in the European Cups.”
