by

AEK BETSSON BC (77-86) passed the home of King Szczecin and enjoys the top of its group!

By Randle being delightful in the last period (18 points) and making all the big shots and Platha’s team having versatility in attack, “Union” passed Poland in style and now holds qualification and first place in their hands of the group, Ousa the only one who has – not just two, but – three wins in the group.

Very good appearance and worthy supporters of their compatriot Tillman (17p.), McLemore (14p.), McRae (13p.), with the “yellow and black” showing that they are finding rhythm as time goes by and set a very early stage for the next phase of the BCL!

The match

The two teams entered the game with enthusiasm, with the Poles, however, managing to reach first 10-4 and then 17-10 with Meyer to have 11 points up to that point, with three 3-pointers. However, the “Union” players immediately made up the difference, with Kuzminskas to make it 19-17 just before the end of the first period, with the same player making it as well 19-19, which was also the score of the first piece of the game.

At the start of the second quarter, AEK BETSSON BC managed to take the lead and find themselves at +4 (19-23), with the home team having the answer and taking the lead again for 26-23. At that point, the Poles were taking a slim lead, with Platha’s set constantly leveling and Flionis making it 33-33 from the free throw line. There, the “Union” stepped on the gas and with a three-pointer by Randle, went to the break earlier with 40-36.

The “yellow and black” entered the second part very strongly and even reached +8 (41-49), by pinning McLemore. The home team responded and made it 47-51 at 25′, but then got carried away by the momentum of the “Union” players, with Randle coming forward and with consecutive points to make it 47-59. Szczecin took the lead, but the visitors ended the third quarter in their favor 62-52.

The last period started with both teams being very inaccurate in the first two minutes. The Poles were unable to threaten AEK BETSSON BC at any point, although they came close at times, with Platha’s side eventually taking the win with 86-77 and to be alone first at the top, having the absolute advantage with three wins in the same number of matches.

The quarters: 19-19, 36-40, 52-62, 77-86.
