by

In his battle ATP Finalstogether with the other 7 top tennis players, is thrown o Stefanos Tsitsipasaiming to repeat the feat of 2019, when he won the tournament.

The Greek tennis player, who was drawn in Green Group of the organization, together with them Novak Djokovic, Yannick Sinner and Holger Rooneystarts his duties at noon on Sunday (12/11, 15:30) against Siner.

Ahead of the tournament, Mr Tsitsipas spoke on her website ATP about the changes in his game and character compared to 2019, but also about the quality of his upcoming opponents.

In detail what he said:

For his participation in the tournament: “I really think the ATP Finals is very close to a Grand Slam experience. You can play in a Grand Slam even if you are No.22 in the world, but not many people can say they have played in an ATP Finals, so for me it is very important. And it carries great heritage and history. Few can boast of having played in such an event.”

On whether he feels different from 2019, when he won the title in London: “I have the peace of mind of a veteran and I feel that changing. I feel this big change this year. I’m starting to think and feel differently. This morning I was thinking about how much I have changed in my personality and the way I think about life and tennis. I don’t know if it’s just maturing or getting to a certain age where your perspective changes, but for me it’s definitely been different in the last few months.”

On his first opponent, Yannick Sinner: “He tends to play fearless tennis and moves very well. he’s improved his movement a lot and his hitting consistency. I think he is a very athletic player. Not too muscular, not too heavy. He has that lightness when he covers the field. He can be anywhere on the field within seconds and his reaction is excellent. He has very good skills and talent in terms of feeling the ball.”

For Novak Djokovic: “Novak has a strong presence when you face him and you definitely feel that he is difficult to face. He has very good body language and you see his mentality when he plays, he is very focused on his goal. That’s a rarity in tennis and there aren’t many you can say that about. He’s made it intense in his game, it’s something I’ve felt when I play against him.”
