He did the easy things… difficult, but he goes with the ideal psychology to the interruption o PAOK!
The “double head of the North” prevailed with his 2-1 Panaitoliko in Toumba as part of its 11th game Stoiximan Super Leaguein a game that found itself behind in the score, but produced a quick and excellent reaction, taking the three points of victory.
The “canaries” took the lead with his goal Torehonwhile the “black and white” drew with Samata -who had his best performance with PAOK- and they took the lead with a great goal Zivkovicwho continues his impressive season this year.
Thus, the Thessalonians rose, albeit temporarily, to second place with 23 points and -2 from the leader, Panathinaikoswhile Panaitolikos remained at the bottom of the standings, tied with six points with Bullet.
In the return after the break, the “black and white” will face away from home Panseraic (11/26, 5:30 p.m.), while Panaitolikos has a very difficult task in “G. Karaiskakis” with Olympic (25/11, 17:30).
In the minds of the coaches:
PAOK lined up with several changes Razvan Lucescu, the 4-2-3-1, however, did not change. Kotarski remained at home, while Yiannis Michailidis returned to the starting lineup after the match with OFI, with Kenziora next to him in the center of the defense and Rafa Soares on the left, while Joan Sastre was on the right.
The midfield duo consisted of Meite-Ozdoev, while Živković was on the right in the midfield trio, while Constantelias started as a staff midfielder, with Thomas Murg on the left. At the top of the attack, Ali Samata was selected.
It should be noted, however, that in the match the Romanian was changing the system to 4-3-3 with Meite as a defensive midfielder and internal Ozdoev and Murg, while on both ends Konstantinia and Zivkovic.
On the opposite bank, Yannis Petrakis for Panaitolikos, he kept Kapinos under the posts, with a defensive five of Liava, Mali, Bruno Duarte, Mladen and Torrejon. Defensive midfielder Perez, with insiders Frederico Duarte and Hatzitheodoridis. Senguelia was moving further forward, behind the sole forward, Joao Pedro.
The match:
The match started with PAOK to have the first good moment in 2′! Nice cross by him Tailor on the right, o Samata he jumped hard, caught the header, which went just wide of Kapino’s right post. Panaitolikos in the 6th minute tried to threaten with a spin Sengelia in the area, but the offside flag was raised, with the visitors basing their attacks mainly down the right flank with Torrejon, who had plenty of ups and downs in the first half of the game.
In the 14th minute, the “double-headed of the North” came close to the goal, after a free kick from a good spot by Ozdoev took over the execution, the Russian proceeded to excellent execution, which found in the horizontal beam of Kapino. In fact, in the next phase and in their first good moment, the “canaries” opened the score! Specifically, in the 20′ the attack started on the right and Sastre’s poor clearance, but moved to the left, Duarte took the cross, Živkovic missed the Torehonwho went to the second post and placed the ball into the net for 1-0.
Nevertheless, the goal conceded by the “black and white” looks like it did them… good. How could it be otherwise, as they then stepped on the gas, turned up the pressure and dominated! In fact, in the 20th minute, PAOK brought the game into balance, as Zivkovic saw Constantelia in the area, who passed to Sastre, with the Spaniard making a nice turn and Samata with a fantastic heel he equalized at 1-1. Three minutes later (29′) the Tanzanian found, again, the way to the net, however, the goal did not count after a VAR review, since Ozdoev who fed him was in an offside position.
Razvan Lucescu’s team continued to find themselves in the Panaitolikos area with ease, producing an excellent reaction after the goal they conceded. So the second goal was a matter of time to come and it happened in the 36th minute! Sastre distributed to Zivkovicthe Serb went a few meters with the ball and sent the cross that took a strange trajectory, Kapino was surprised and saw the ball hit, initially, the post and ended up in the net for 2-1.
Thus, in a period of ten minutes (26′-36′), the Thessalonikians found two goals, turned the situation around and had the role of leader in the match. In the last period of the first half, Duarte (42′) attempted a shot from a good spot, but it went high over the posts, with the hosts in the 44th asking for the second yellow card and the expulsion of Liavas for his double marking on Michaelidis and Rafa Soares. In stoppage time, Ozdoev did not make a good finish in the area from a nice turn by Soares, with the half ending with PAOK dominant and in front of the score (2-1).
In the first minutes of the second half, the team of Yannis Petrakis tried to raise the lines and press high and in the 51st minute they did not take advantage of a gap in the home team’s area, created by an unstable clearance of Kotarsky.
From there on, the game went to hard duels and power, without the two teams reaching final attempts with good conditions. In the 73′, Meite made a bad header in a spot where no mistakes are allowed, but o Pedro he didn’t take advantage of the “gift” and the shot he attempted went wide of Kotarski’s goal. In the 79th minute, an inspiration by Constantelia had no substantial effect, while in the 81st minute, Peres’ shot ended up in the hands of Kotarski.
In the last minutes of the match, Panaitolikos circulated the ball well, Razvan Lucescu’s players seemed to lose their positions and concentration, with the “canaries”, however, not finding the right moment that would lead them to equalize. So the final whistle found him PAOK to take the win and go into the break with the best possible mentality.
MVP: THE Samata takes the title of the top scorer, performing against Panaitolikos in his best performance with the PAOK jersey. He has the first good moment of the match, scores with an excellent back-heel, and found the net for a second time, but Ozdoev was in an offside position. More generally, he was “trouble” in the defense of the “canaries” with pressure and movements when he did not have the ball.
The whistle: Samata’s second goal was rightly disallowed for offside on Ozdoev, but Tsiaras he could have sent off Liavas in the 44th minute phase when he makes two awkward markings on Rafa Soares and Michaelidis.
The elevens of the two teams:
PAOK (Razvan Lucescu): Kotarski, Sastre, Kenziora, Michaelidis, Rafa Soares, Ozdoev (76′ Schwab), Meite, Zivkovic (90′ Vieirinia), Constantelias, Murg (64′ Despodov), Samata (76′ Thomas).
