THE Slovakia subdued her Iceland, winning 4-2 at home and sealing a ticket to the Euro finals for the third time in a row and while needing a point in the last two games to “lock” qualification. The match did not start with the best of omens for the hosts, as Oscarsson opened the scoring in the 17th minute with a header, taking advantage of accurate balls. Kuchka equalized in the 30th minute with a header from a Haraslin corner, while six minutes later Duda tipped the scales in favor of the hosts with a penalty.

In the second half, Haraslin was a big star, scoring two goals. In the 47th minute, he maneuvered nicely and scored for 3-1, while in a similar way he scored in the 55th minute, with the difference that he caught the shot outside the area. In the 74th minute, Gudjonsen scored from close range after a corner and amused the visitors, who remained in 4th place.

Portugal continued with the absolute, which went 2-0 from Liechtenstein. The Iberians struggled for a half. After the game was at 0-0 until the 46th minute, when the usual suspect, Cristiano Ronaldo, took action. The 38-year-old ace found the net with a lob, after first leaving on the counterattack, reaching 41 goals in the Euro qualifiers, while at the same time he counts 43 in 2023. Eleven minutes later, Cancelo found the net, who took advantage of the wrong exit of the opposing goalkeeper, he passed him and sent the ball into the net. The 3rd place was “locked” by Luxembourg, leveling indifferent Bosnia, with a 4-1 home win. Olesen’s goal (6′) and Rodriguez’s (30′ penalty) gave the hosts a big boost, while Mujakic’s own goal made it 3-0 in the 55th minute. Goikovic reduced to 90’+3′, while two minutes later Rodriguez wrote the epilogue of the match.
