Dissatisfaction with AO Thiras for the postponement of the match against OFA Apollonios

He caused discontent among his people AO Thira the postponement of the fight with OFA Apollonius for the Women’s Volleyball League.

EOPE informed that the match was postponed due to the guests’ inability to move to Santorini, with the home team standing by the fact that in the past, their respective request had not been accepted.

The relevant announcement states:

On the occasion of the postponement of tonight’s Women’s Volleyleague match, the administration of A.O. Thiras announces that although the flight Athens – Santorini took place normally, with a delay, at noon on Saturday, EOPE hastened to postpone the match AO Thiras – OFA Apollonius for the 5th matchday of the championship.

The postponement of the match that was scheduled to take place today, Saturday 18/11/2023 at 19.00 at the DAPPOS Indoor Gymnasium, according to the relevant announcement of EOPE “IT IS POSTPONED due to the inability of the visiting club to travel to Santorini”.

We hope that in the future the Federation will show the same sensitivity and understanding in similar cases, which will concern our team, which however it has not done in the past.

We specifically refer to the Cup match of the 2016-2017 season, in the first years of our team’s presence in A1 Women’s, where with much worse weather conditions, we requested the postponement of the match. At the time, our request was not accepted by the organizing Authority, as a result, by exaggerating ourselves, we managed in every way to be present at the game and to appear consistent in our obligations.

We express our displeasure at the last minute development, when despite the unfavorable weather conditions and the 7 Beaufort winds blowing in the Cyclades, the 15-year-old girls of our club traveled to Naxos by ferry at noon, to compete normally today and tomorrow in context of the K20 championship of the 7th TE Volleyball Cyclades Region.
