Lamia’s divorce with Alan Jagoevafter only two months of cooperation.
The Russian midfielder, who suffered a lot from injuries, decided to end his career. In a written statement, he thanked the Fthiots for their cooperation, emphasizing the efforts they made to convince him.
For its part, PAE gave its best wishes to the experienced footballer for the continuation of his life.
In detail, the announcement:
PAE PAS LAMIA 1964 announces the mutual consent termination of its cooperation with the football player Alan Dzagoev. The Russian midfielder expressed his desire to leave our team, at the same time deciding to end his great football career, due to the injuries that have plagued him in recent years. PAE Lamia, respecting the decision of this great player, thanks him for his cooperation to date and wishes him the best in his life!
Alan Dzagoev after the termination of his contract made the following statement:
“I decided to end my career as a professional football player. Unfortunately, I only played two matches for Lamia and then was out for two weeks due to a hamstring injury. I was allowed to recover calmly, but just before entering the general group I pulled my left calf muscle. In the last 5 years I have suffered from many bruises and that is why I took this decision so suddenly. Then I decided – that’s enough. It becomes difficult both mentally and physically.
I immediately told both the coach and the Lamia management about this. They tried to leave me, they said: “Come on, try again.” I am very grateful for this attitude, but I decided everything for myself. Life doesn’t end there, football doesn’t end there either – I have thoughts in this direction.
I want to say a huge thank you to Mr. Panourgias Papaioannou and to Mr. Tsiknis and to the Lamia fans, they received me very positively. Of course, I wanted to repay them in full. With all my heart I wish the club success and always be at the very top.”
