Beryl was praised by McKissick for her MadWalk appearance

Shaquille McKissick’s wife, Beryl, walked the MadWalk catwalk, making one of her dreams come true.

The American guard of Olympiakos, in a long post, bowed to his partner for the new experience he experienced and talked about the intense emotions he experienced the night of the event.

In detail, his message:

“Last week. I saw some of the top designers, models and creators who will be participating in the MadWalk. Special thanks to Sasha Stamatis for making all of this happen.

Five years ago, when my wife and I first met, she expressed her desire to walk the runway one day. I understood the significance of this dream for her. Although we rarely talked about it over the years, it was a goal I never forgot he wanted to achieve. Being a wife and mother, especially a basketball player’s wife and mother, has its challenges. She had to move from country to country, give birth away from her family, the complications of pregnancy and the sacrifice of a “normal life”, while at the same time chasing her own dreams. My wife is really amazing

At Mad Walk, I doubt there was anyone prouder than me. This was her own achievement, something she had to achieve on her own. Unlike on the basketball court, where I feel in control and can influence the outcome of the game, this event was a different scenario. I could not influence the outcome or protect my wife from possible failure or criticism. The nervousness I felt while waiting for her to walk down the runway was unlike anything I had ever experienced before. I was so anxious before the show started, I almost threw up several times.

Although she had one of Greece’s leading designers, Selia Kritharioti, dress her, my nerves were still on edge. Mrs. Kritharioti is excellent. Getting to know her, along with her sister, Lenia, Anna Maria and everyone else involved was a privilege. The greatness of Mrs. Krithariotis is intense, genius, admirable, powerful and simply put, beautiful. I swear he reminded me so much of Vassilis Spanoulis or Kobe Bryant’s “mama attitude” but in the world of fashion

This was the first time in my marriage that I saw my wife completely terrified. Me too, haha. Beryl was scared because she realized the magnitude of this opportunity. The effort and dedication of everyone around Celia also deserves recognition. The designers and their assistants are all dedicated to being the best, and as a basketball player, that’s a motivation I wholeheartedly agree with.

Watching my wife try on a hundred pink dresses was surreal. Every time she approached Celia, the room fell silent, I crouched close to her from the other end of the room, and we all awaited the verdict of this powerful woman. It felt like a movie.

I am lucky enough to witness my wife’s genius, wit and ability to charm herself every day. As a woman forging her own path and seeking to shine on her own terms, she often faces stereotypical expectations. She has a voice, she respects everyone equally and despite being a Turk living in Greece and dealing with sensitive issues, she moves through this media landscape with elegance, grace, humility and a deep love for Greece and its culture

She’s a protective mother, a wife with high expectations, and now a MadWalk model, and honestly, she’s going to be whatever she wants to be. And as for me, I’m here for it, I’m here for everything! By the way, as a person who appreciates the arts, this show was a perfect 10/10 for me, and the production team was absolutely amazing! Oh, and I met Kostas Fragolias from Happy Day. We had a good conversation.”
