One of the first things he had in mind from the moment he assumed the position of technical director at Panathinaikos The Giannis Papadimitriou was the radical restructuring of the club’s scouting department, based on the standards of major European clubs.
The plan is now in full swing, with Mr. Papadimitriou fine-tuning the final details of the organizational chart for the department, which operates under his guidance.
Chief scout of the scouting department has been taken over by Makis Livathinos.
The “hitting” team of the department is made up of the following:
Baxevanidis Municipality: With a long career in the first division with the jersey of Xanthi, as well as presence in Apollon Athens and Doxa Drama, Baxevanidis has mainly shouldered the international part, but also the Super League in the scouting of Panathinaikos.
Kyriakos Konstantinidis: He worked for a number of years at AEK and in the scouting department he deals mainly with the academy and the second team.
Alexandros Zafiriou: He is in his 3rd year with Panathinaikos scouting and is mainly involved with the international side. He is also the person who coordinates the analyzes in the group.
External partner for the Latin American market is Lucas Favali.
Separate space in “G. Caulk’ and database
The scouting department of Panathinaikos has its own separate space in the training center of the “trefoil”, which facilitates the daily demanding job. In fact, it now operates, according to the standards of leading European clubs, an electronic database with every necessary tool to classify the important elements.
The academy in the scouting department – “Nets” throughout Greece!
In the new scouting department of the “clover” and in the context of its development, the team’s academy is included. Andreas Lagonikakis, Kostas Mavridis, Markos Tsombanopoulos will be joined by new partners by the end of the year.
Also, it is extremely important for Panathinaikos that it will have its own “talent scouts” in all the geographical regions of Greece.
