The return to victories in the Spanish championship was celebrated on Sunday afternoon (26/11) by Villarrealwhich prevailed more difficult than the final shows 3-1 over Osasuna at “Theramika”, for the 14th matchday of La Liga!
After a mediocre first half without many phases in front of the two goals, the “yellow submarine” found the solutions in the replay to get its fourth victory in this year’s championship, thus improving its psychology ahead of the home match next Thursday ( 30/11) with an opponent Panathinaikos for the Europa League group stage.
The big star for the home team was none other than Jose Luis Morales, with the Spanish striker bagging a hat-trick inside 23 minutes to give his side victory. More specifically, the 36-year-old ace opened the scoring in the 57th minute from an assist by Moreno, while, with a beautiful shot in the 71st minute, he raised the score to 2-0. Seven minutes later, the visitors temporarily reduced the lead with Catena’s header, only for Morales to come again in the 80th minute to shape the final score.
With this victory, Villarreal rose to 12th place in the standings with 15 points, reducing – temporarily – to seven points the difference from the top 6.
