Djukanovic on sportfm.gr: “The most important matches of the next week – To be close to the top six”

by

THE Asteras Tripoli he continues to… fly away, his unbeaten streak growing. His team Milan Rastavac passed “air” from Kaisariani, winning 3-1 against Kifissia and for the fourth consecutive match away from “Theodoros Kolokotronis” remains unbeaten (s. 3 wins, 1 draw). Which, of course, has the result of rising in points and now being -2 out of the top six.

THE Erwin Djukanovic he was one of the protagonists for the Arkades in their emphatic victory against the Northern Suburbs team. In addition to the very good image he had overall in the 90th minute, he was also anointed scorer – for the first time this year – after an excellent shot in traffic after his corner Sean Gossexecuted Anagnostopoulos for 3-0.

The experienced Bosnian central defender spoke after the finale of the match at sportfm.gr and to Anastasia Bosnaki. He repeatedly emphasized that the most important games are the ones coming for Asteras next week, obviously meaning the two with Panserraikos in the league and the Cup, which will essentially define the team’s goals for the season.

– Asteras Tripoli’s biggest win away from home this season and even in a match that was combined with your own goal…

“Of course it’s always nice when you score, it’s something that gives you confidence, but the most important thing is that the team won, that we got points for another match away from home. We are close to where we want to be, in sixth place, and that gives us enough confidence going forward. However, I think the most important games are next week.”

– Asteras is running an unbeaten streak of four games with three wins and one draw. How is this explained in contrast to home matches, where the team has taken just one three points?

“It’s always different when you play away from home. This is because always the teams playing at their home ground must win and there is more pressure. We prepare to be stronger, better and more focused, but also to be more aggressive. So far we have been lucky and won quite a few matches away from home and we must continue to do so at home as well. Next week is very important.”

-Regarding the team’s goals, what are they? Can we say what it’s like to enter the top six and a good run in the Cup?

“We have some goals, I wouldn’t want to talk about them though. It is a given that we will try to be close to the top six. However, we are looking at it game by game and we will see what happens in the end. We have to look week by week, for example the next match is very important and we have to win it. Because when that happens, then we will be on the right track to achieve what we want.”
