Stankovic: “We proved that we are competitive – Let’s claim our continuity in the competition”

THE AEK hosts tomorrow night (11/30, 19:45) the Brighton at the OPAP Arena in a crucial Europa League group stage match for the team’s future in the competition.

Representing the players at the press conference, Mr Cican Stankovic, he dwelt on the details that will decide the match, stressing that in order to get a positive result, the “Union” will have to make a similar appearance to the one it had done in England.

At the same time, he emphasized that the goal of the club is none other than the conclusion of one of them first two places in the group, in order to continue after January in the second class European event.

For tomorrow’s match: “It is a very difficult game against a Premier League team. We need to do what we did in the previous match. Either with or without the ball. If we do our best and are focused, we will succeed.”



On how important it is for AEK to keep its hearth intact: “Personally I feel happy when I perform well, but the important thing is that the team performs well. We have to be focused, get a good result and claim the first two places and not the third.”

On whether he thinks this group was as competitive as if they were in the Champions League: “It’s true, it could be a Champions League group. We were a bit unlucky in the draw, but we proved we can be competitive. And tomorrow we have to stand at the same level to get what we want.”
