Former player Denílson de Oliveira and his lawyers told the court that pagodeiro Belo did not deposit part of the agreement they both signed to end a debt between the two that had been in force since 1999.
According to a document obtained by F5, the Band presenter’s defense claims that around R$123,000 of an installment was not paid. The amount refers to lawyers’ fees, which are also included in the final amount.
The Court has not yet given a position on the matter. Belo’s defense did not respond to contacts made by the report until closing.
The conflict involved a debt of around R$7 million that the singer owed to the Band commentator. Denilson even announced the agreement on Instagram: “Singer Belo and I spoke and, in a friendly way, we reached an agreement.”
“As men, adults and professionals that we are, it was important to put an end to this mess that had separated us for more than 20 years,” he said. “Today, with joy, we bring this matter to a close. Thank you very much to everyone involved. Now it’s time to look forward. It’s over!”, he said at the time.
Belo and Denilson have been at odds since the then athlete, at the time with Betis, in Spain, bought the rights to the band Soweto.
Belo, the then vocalist, asked to leave the group, being sued by the footballer for moral damages. In the action, Denilson argued that Belo left the band without paying compensation.
