The expansion of cooperation with Faye Kotoula announced the women’s basketball department of Panathinaikos.
A few days after the athlete’s serious injury, the “greens” made the great move, extending the contract that “binds” them.
The 29-year-old guard suffered a cruciate ligament tear in the trefoil game against Slavia Bystrica last Thursday (11/23) and today (11/30) went through the surgery door.
In detail, the announcement:
“The Panathinaikos Athletic Club wishes a speedy recovery to Fai Kotoula and in recognition of her contribution and morals, announces the renewal of the partnership with her for the next season.
The Association, loyal to its principles and values, always rewards the persons who give soul and body to the “clover” and are on their side.
Fai Kotoula is an athlete who has left her mark on the team in the last four years and Panathinaikos wants and will have her close to them next year as well, honoring her competitive and moral value.
The injury was not at any point a brake on the decision-makers’ thinking and thus the athlete from Kozanita will continue in the “green”.
In a statement on www.pao1908.com Kotoula said “I thank the President, the Vice-President, the General Secretary and the entire management of Panathinaikos from the bottom of my heart for their action to proceed immediately with the renewal of my contract.
Along with the aforementioned, I feel the need to thank the team manager, my coach and the entire staff. All of them from the first moment showed that they are by my side and my emotion is very great for the enormous interest with which they faced the situation in which I found myself.
Once again they prove that Panathinaikos is not just a team, but a family. It is a great honor and a great joy for me to be part of the greatest team and I feel grateful that I will continue to wear this shirt. I can’t wait to get back on the pitch, win more titles and celebrate them with our fans. But first, let’s start with this year’s.”
This morning, the operation was performed by doctor Mr. Konidis, whom he warmly thanks once again for undertaking the athlete’s surgery.”
