Armani Milano paid his… broken Olympiakou!

Putting in a very good performance throughout the match, the Zalgiris came away with a great double from Italy, winning comfortably and in… style 83-70 of Armani for the 11th matchday of the Euroleague!

Armed with a very high three-point percentage (11/21, 52.4%), Kazis Maksvitis’ team returned to winning ways and improved their record to 5-6, thus erasing last week’s loss to Olympiakos in SEF.

The leading scorer for the winners was Ulanovas with 20 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists, with Evans and Schmitz adding 19 and 16 points respectively. On the other hand, the hosts continued their problematic performances in the competition (4-7), with Shields (21 points) being the only one who was saved from tonight’s mediocrity.

The match:

With Ulanovas starting “hot” and scoring 8 collected points, the Zalgiris led 10-8 at 5′, while, a little later, the three-pointer of the Lithuanian and that of Evans sent the guests to +4 (12-16) at 7′. Taking advantage of the opponent’s many fouls, Armani Milan found easy points from the line of scrimmage in the final three minutes, as a result of which he closed the quarter ahead with score 19-18.

The game continued to be balanced right down to the middle second period, with both teams being close to the score (27-29). Somewhere in there, Zalgiris turned it up a notch and with Evans and Hayes leading the way, they went on a 12-2 run to make it +12 (29-41), before Maondo Lo cut it in at the end for 31-41 of the half.

The scene was similar in third quarter, with the Lithuanians comfortably maintaining a good margin, keeping Ettore Messina’s side low on the scoreboard. In fact, they even led by +13 (36-49) in the middle of the quarter, with Armani for its part gnawing away at the finale the difference for the 59-52 of the period. And while everyone was waiting for Armani Milano’s response in the fourth and final period, it ultimately never came, with Zalgiris reaching her third double of the season more easily than she would have expected. the final 83-70.

The quarters: 19-18, 31-41, 52-59, 70-83.
