It is the multi-tool player in the De Cerby’s Brighton. Wherever he is asked to compete, he does so without objection and with great success. Right or left back, stopper, defensive midfielder in his natural position, right winger, o Pascal Gross he is the footballer every coach begs to have. The Italian coach is the lucky one and he uses it accordingly to successfully get through this demanding period with constant injuries.

Essential and irreplaceable, it does all the work that… it doesn’t catch the eye. Contributes to creation with assists and goals. That is why his philosophy fits with the German national team, of which he is of course a member. Against AEK, the 32-year-old found things dark against Pinedas, but in the end celebrated the victory – qualification of the “Seagulls” in their maiden appearance in a European group.

Pascal Gross stated in sport-fm and the Thanasi Cretan impressed by the AEK team and the “OPAP Arena”.

Brighton had the role of favorites in the group. Was qualification to the next phase of the Europa League the main goal?

“The main goal was achieved, but we also want the first place. Although we did not make the ideal start, after being defeated in the premiere by AEK and drawing with Marseille in France, we “turned it around” with three straight wins and qualified. After a “battle” with AEK in a difficult game. My respects to the team, because they were a worthy opponent in both matches.”

Does the night at the “OPAP Arena” and the winning result “grow” Brighton as a club?

“We are definitely making a name for ourselves. We are rookies in the Europa League and inexperience in European competitions is not in our favor. We learn game by game. It is even more difficult to cope at the highest level, especially with the many injuries we have at the moment. Again, the kids are doing great. We’re giving it our all and we’re constantly improving.”

Are the many injuries due to the combination of the Premier League and European competition?

“I really do not know. All English teams are absent due to back-to-back matches. We have a tough game against Chelsea on Sunday, then we play again on Wednesday and again on Saturday. Every three days we have a match. We’re taking it step by step and we’re waiting for the injured to come back with time.”

How did you experience the atmosphere of the stadium that will host the Conference League final?

“Incredible atmosphere, it captivated me and I enjoyed it. The stadium is impressive. You feel the passion of the fans and their love for football. The truth is also that I really like Greece. I come every summer for vacation, people are very friendly here.”
