Visible risk of a new home ground punishment for Olympiakos

by

With suspension of 2-4 matches behind closed doors and a heavy fine is threatened o Olympic for the events that led to a temporary stoppage of the confrontation with Volos at Panthessalikos (2-2).

Piraeus, who “need” one more matchday from the break in the derby with Panathinaikos and will play in the derby with AEK at the beginning of 2024, are at risk of a new “bell” since damage to foreign property has been recorded by the officials of the match (they broke many seats in Panthessaliko) and violence (in clashes with police forces). Indeed, if Olympiacos is punished, then it will probably have to play without people in the match for the “16” of the Cup against Panathinaikos (17/1).

Article 15.4b of the Disciplinary Code specifically states: “If the entrance of the fans to the playing field or the incidents in the other areas of the field according to the above, are connected either with significant damage to foreign property or with violence against persons, a fine of fifty thousand (50,000) euros to two hundred and fifty thousand (250,000) euros and penalty for holding matches without spectators, from two (2) to four (4) matches. In the event that the incidents took place exclusively in the surrounding area of the stadium, or were of a small scale and did not cause physical harm to any person, then a penalty of holding matches without spectators will not be imposed».
