After a balanced first half, we saw a different Real in the second half. What were the details that led you to victory?

“We did a good job against our opponent. We played very smart defense. Panathinaikos AKTOR can score in many ways, and I think we checked that. When you play good defense, the offense rolls on its own, so I think that was the key to the win.”

In the second quarter, Panathinaikos AKTOR went ahead with a partial score of 14-0 and OAKA “caught fire”. How did you manage to keep calm and control the situation?

“We were calm, because we knew that it can happen that we have a bad period, when the opponent plays very well. At that point we couldn’t stop any Panathinaikos AKTOR player, they scored continuously and went ahead. What we had to do was stay focused, keep playing, try to get defenses out and in the end we played smart and we did it.”

In the third period you were really unstoppable. Did Chus Mateo say anything important to you during the break?

“From yesterday until this morning, we were constantly working on our defense. So all he told us was to keep doing our job, give it our all on defense, turn the ball over properly on offense and everything will be fine.”

What is your opinion about Panathinaikos AKTOR. Do you think he can go high?

“He has a great team, it’s a really good team. He can score in so many ways. He is dangerous in many positions, has a terrible point guard (s.s. Nan) and a terrible center (s.s. Lesor). He’s been playing a lot better lately than he was at the start, so it’s very interesting. But it’s too early to say where he can go.”
