Critical meeting of referees with Baltako-“The script for the holiday season is on fire”

by

THE officialization of the postponement of the 14th matchday it doesn’t mean that… automatically the action will start again next weekend in the Stoiximan Super League.

A delegation of referees will meet today with the president of the EPO, Taki Baltako, who will announce to them the measures he intends to take for their protection. Among the demands for referees to hang up their whistles is a ban on players entering the locker room at the end of games.

Only if the referees are satisfied with the federation’s commitments will they return to the pitches, although there is still no position from the league on the threats against Tasos Papapetrou, which also caused the massive backlash from the referees. If abstinence is lifted, then the league will start again next three days 16-18 September with modifications to the program.

As for when the matchday that was “lost” will be held? The scenario of having a game day between Christmas and New Year (December 27-28) “burnt out”, as most footballers have planned holidays and especially foreigners have also bought tickets to spend a few days in their homelands. Therefore, other solutions will have to be sought, with the options limited since the postponements of the Panathinaikos-Olympiakos and AEK-Aris Cups were preceded, while at the same time between one and four Greek teams will continue in Europe.
