Stormy Alkmaar “suffocated” Almire with leader Pavlidis!

by

After losing points to Utrecht and Nijmegen, Alkmaar recovered with… killer Pavlidis! The Greek striker was again “hot” helping his team beat Almire 4-1 for the 15th matchday of the Eredivisie!

The international striker was once again delightful as he scored two stunning goals, one more beautiful than the other, and moved to the top of the scorers’ table, level with Feyenoord’s Santiago Jimenez with 18 goals!

The home team opened the score in just 5′ when after a fantastic movement of the ball that reminded something of… Barcelona’s tiki-taka, Pavlidis with a perfect diagonal, drifting shot made it 1-0 which was also his score first half.

In the second half, Almire took steps on the pitch and in the 56th minute, after a corner kick, Ebe Shaw equalized with a header at 1-1.

However, Alkmaar’s response was immediate as 10 minutes later De Wit, assisted by Penetra, made it 2-1 with a strong shot.

Alkmaar ended the match in the 80th minute with Wolfe’s goal for 3-1, but Pavlidis saved the best for last.

The Greek striker, with a “tramp” pass, dug the ball which hit both posts and ended up in the net for the final 4-1!
