Colossus: All-time points record

History was written by Colossussince at his victory over Prometheus with 114-109 in overtime he posted his top performance in offensive production in his years playing in the Stoiximan Basket League.

Kolossos surpassed by 8 points its previous record of 106 points scored in the home game of the 2018-19 season against Panionios again in overtime. The “sea” had three “100-pointers” in their history in the Stoiximan Basket League before this season, in which they already count two after the one preceded by the premiere with Peristeri bwin, when they scored 104 points in double overtime.

The 114 points of Kuro Segura’s team, however, exceed their limits. This is the top performance of this year’s Stoiximan Basket League after it surpassed the performance of 112 that Panathinaikos Aktor had in the match against Apollon Patras, but in 40 competitive minutes.

At the same time, yesterday’s performance of Kolossos ranks among the top 33 in the history of the professional Championship! To find a similar or greater performance we would have to go back to the 1st semi-final of the 2022 playoffs when Olympiacos scored 116 points also against Prometheus.

Kolossos third in overtimes in the last 18 years

Neapolis’ indoor stadium in Rhodes was the stadium that hosted both matches of the season, so far, that were not decided in the 40 minutes, since the premiere with Peristeri bwin had preceded it, which went to a second overtime. Kolossos H Hotels is one of the teams that are the most… familiar with extra time since in the years it is in the professional Championship, it has participated in 21 such games. Only Aris Midea (30) and PAOK mateco (28) have more.

In fact, defeating Peristeri bwin and Prometheus, Kolossos became the fifth team, since the 2005-06 season that appeared in the division itself, to reach a double-digit number of wins. His tally is now 10 wins and 11 losses.

However, it is remarkable that the two teams reached 100 points during the normal duration of the match. It is something that happened for the first time since June 4, 2021 when AEK and Prometheus had met for the 2nd minor final of the playoffs in a match that was decided by a score of 113-101 in 40 game minutes.

The last game of the regular season of the Stoiximan Basket League that had 100 points from both teams, again featured Kolossos. It was that of the 21st game of the 2018-19 Championship when it was defeated in overtime by Panionios at home with 106-109.

In personal level…

*Sotiris Billis added another very good performance to his credit (14 points, 4/5 shots) and with 2/3 three-pointers he entered the top 30 of the relevant list of Kolossos H Hotels. Giorgos Kalaitzis and Donovan Jackson reached 31.

*Luka Brajkovic dished out three blocks, becoming the 28th in Rhodes team history to reach double figures (12).

At the same time, the Austrian with the eight accurate two points he had, reached 65 and entered the top 50 of the relevant list of the H Hotels Colossus. For this to happen, he beat Sotiris Manolopoulos and Kevin Langford.

Brajkovic had 22 points and 12 rebounds to join Jaime Etzenike, Chad Brown with three and second on the double-double list behind Sakur Juston who has five. It is even more impressive that the center of Colossus H Hotels reached all three of his double-doubles without making a mistake! The other two were against Lavrio Megabolt and Apollo Carna.

The Austrian posted his second performance of 20+ points and 10+ rebounds, a combination that Shakur Juston also reached twice.
