“The “Peace and Friendship” stadium in Piraeus will be the venue of the Women’s Eurobasket 2025 in Greece. SEF is the stadium where the final phase of the competition will be hosted, as well as the matches of one of the four groups.

Known for its history and for hosting top sporting events, the 11,847-seat stadium will add another major event to its resume, welcoming Women’s EuroBasket for the first time, while a year earlier it will also host one of the four Pre-Olympic Tournaments of FIBA.

The announcement of Piraeus, as the host city, coincides with the visit of the president of the Hellenic Republic, Katerina Sakellaropoulou, and the president of the EOK, Vangelis Lioliou, to the home of basketball in Geneva, where they met with the FIBA ​​Secretary General, Andreas Zagli.

Greece has hosted a Women’s EuroBasket in 2003 in Amaliada, Patras and Pyrgos and once again takes over the top European Women’s Basketball event!

EuroBasket 2025 will be the first to be hosted in four countries, as the Czech Republic, Germany, Greece and Italy are co-hosts. Brno in the Czech Republic, Bologna in Italy, Hamburg in Germany will be, together with Piraeus, the four cities that will host Eurobasket 2025.

The event will be held June 18-29 and the four host countries have already secured their qualification.

The remaining 32 teams will claim their qualification through the Qualifying Phase of EuroBasket 2025, which has already started and the last 12 tickets in the three windows held from November 2023 to February 2025″.
