Incredible Cagliari, punished Sassuolo with Pavoletti’s reverse scissors at 90’+9′!

Awesome and terrible Cagliariachieved the upset of the year in Serie A!

The guests entered the match very strongly and in their first good moment they opened the score. In the 7th minute, after a corner kick, Martin Erlitz beat everyone in the air and with an excellent header, sent the ball into the right side of the goal for 1-0.

Sassuolo then put more emphasis on protecting the scoreline, with Cagliari having possession but not threatening Consilli’s goal. The “Neroverdi” however made their task more difficult, when in the 62nd minute Ruan Tresoldi saw the second yellow card and was sent off, leaving his team with 10 players.

However, Cagliari managed to equalize at 90+4′ with Lapantula and get the precious victory at 90+9′ with Pavoletti’s incredible scissors that redeemed his team for the final 2-1.

In the previous game, Empoli drew 1-1 with Lecce and moved out of the relegation zone, reaching 12 points and are -1 behind 18th-placed Verona, while Roberto D’Aversa’s side remained in 14th place with 17 points.

The visitors took the lead in the 64th minute through Banda, however, Empoli’s response was immediate. In particular, seven minutes later (71′) he brought the game into balance with an own goal by Rafia for 1-1, which was also the final of the match.
