Having entered his 37th year of age, the Brazilian striker who played in 78 games for Olympiakos, chose to put end of his football careerannouncing his decision via a social media post.
“It took me a while to think how to express what I feel, mainly because I wasn’t sure how to put so many different emotions into one text, or more specifically how to find the right words to say goodbye to football. I had the most beautiful journey, despite the unforeseen events and some disappointments, the course was full of successes. Thank you, football! I’m saying goodbye to you today as a player, but I’m sure you’ll stay in my life forever!”he said among other things in his… farewell post.

THE Diogo he started his football career from Portuguesebefore moving to our country in August 2008 for the sake of Olympiakos, which then took out of its coffers almost 10 million euros to include him in his roster. After two seasons, he returned to his country to compete on loan from the “red and whites” in Flamenco and Santosbefore returning in January 2011 and leaving for good in March 2013.
Overall with Olympiakos he had 78 appearances with 23 goals, winning three championships and two Cups with him. He then returned to Portugal and played for them as well Palmeirasbefore moving to Thailand and Malaysia to wear the jerseys of Padum United and Zohor.
