Lawsuits against 13 Aris fans for torches and entering the pitch after the match with Olympiakos

A case was filed against 13 Aris fans, aged 19 to 36, by the Sports Violence police, for activating torches at the “Cleanthis Vikelidis” stadium, and against four of them for entering the playing field after the end of the match.

The incident happened in the match between Aris and Olympiakos, for the Greek Cup, in January 2023, at the “Cleanthis Vikelidis” stadium. It is recalled that after the end of the match and the exclusion of the “yellow and black”, there were incidents outside the stadium between Aris fans and police forces.

The police officers of the Directorate for Combating Violence in Sports Venues of the Security Directorate of Thessaloniki filed a case against 13 people for activating torches, while four of them had entered the playing field after the end of the match.

Police officers of the Directorate for Combating Violence in Sports Venues of the Thessaloniki Security Directorate, after a thorough investigation, filed a case file against a total of thirteen (13) people for offenses that took place on the occasion of a sports event.

Specifically, the details of thirteen (13) citizens aged 19 to 36 were identified, as it emerged from the police investigation that in January 2023, during a football match at a stadium in the Harilaou area, they possessed and activated, as the case may be, pyrotechnic constructions (sailors torches), while four (4) of them entered the playing field after the end of the match.

The relevant case file will be submitted to the competent judicial authorities.
